We Made it

Yes, we made it. The drive was LONG. We started out last Sunday around 2 and made it to St George where we slept at my brothers house. Deacon didn't have a nap because he wouldn't sleep in the car. Crazy.. so that night Derek and I where ready for bed around 8 with the crazy 2 days before of packing. But Deacon was off the wall crazy (literally) way too tried to sleep. I won't give you all the details. ( : but it was a longer night then I wanted and we got up at 6 to hit the road some more. Over all Deacon was awesome in the car with the help of Grandma's and Grandpa's packing us some fun ideas and movies. Deacon finally fell asleep the last 20 minutes and I sat in the truck for another 20 or so just so he would have a little nap for the crazy night of trying to get stuff unpacked. I don't know why it's so hard for him to sleep in the car. But we made it. ( :

My first impression of this place wasn't so good. I wanted to cry when I first got here. The first thing we did before we even started unloading we walked over to the park it's like our back yard. Let Deacon play for a minute. Let's just say there are some weirdos around here and I felt a little scared. (that's where the wanting to cry part comes in) People count me off guard and now we have a crazy guy who go's through our garbage, WHAT WAS I THINKING. I wasn't. But the good news is after being here for a little over a week and going to Church and meeting some normal people it's getting much better. ( : Our next door neighbors are so nice and she caught me up on a few things around here. One crazy story last Easter they had a stabling in the park and police where chasing a guy at gun point right past our house. FUN HU. That's why the park is a little questionable. Stupid Gangs.

But, I feel really good about the ward and getting to know people. We had a little help unloading with the good old Missionaries, the bishop, and the Elders Quaom President. After the help it was pretty late and the Elders Quaom Pres. had us for dinner. I can't begin to tell you how much I needed that. They seem like great people. Things are finally feeling a little settled with getting the internet up and going and things are finding their place. ( : It's starting to feel like HOME.

There is so much to write about but, I will keep it for another day. One last thing Derek's work is going good he really seems to like it. It's really busy and he's on his feet all day so he needs to get use to that again. No complains. I'm SO glad.

I think it is always so hard to feel at "home" when you first get somewhere new. It always takes me a while to feel settled. I hope you continue to meet great new people and enjoy your new adventure!

I'm glad you guys made it. That's too bad Deacon had such a hard time. Good luck with getting used to your new surroundings. For me, it always takes some adjusting. Good luck with the new job, too!

I'm so glad that you made it to California! It can take a while to get used to a new place, but I'm excited to hear all about the fun adventures you are sure to have. :)

Will you guys be in Utah at all this summer?

Glad that you guys made it okay and that things seem to be getting better each day. Things always get better if you are willing to let them get better. Keeping a good attitude allows that to happen. I wanna see some pictures of the guy going through your trash! That would be great blogging material!
